The Outdoor Event Formats Best Suited to the Fort

Outdoor team building. This is the most frequent use. Field day games, trail runs through the park, outdoor escape games, sporting challenges in the Théâtre de verdure — the Fort's large natural grounds lend themselves naturally to formats that blend movement, cohesion, and friendly competition. Summer reception and garden party. The Cour du Cavalier (2,000 m²) and the Théâtre de verdure combined can host large outdoor receptions — up to 1,000 guests in cocktail format in the Cour. With the Caponnière as an indoor fallback or entertainment space, the formula covers every weather scenario. This is a highly sought-after format for summer corporate evenings d’été.

Seminar with an outdoor session. A full Multi-team seminar. day can easily alternate between morning indoor work and afternoon outdoor activities. The change of setting is part of the value — participants often return more focused after an hour outside than after a coffee break in the room.

CSR and environmental activities. The Fort is classified as a Site of Natural Sensitivity — a setting particularly well suited to days with a sustainable development, environmental awareness, or corporate CSR focus. What to Anticipate for an Outdoor Event

The weather and the contingency plan. You can't control the rain, but you can prepare for it. At the Fort, the indoor spaces (Caponnière, seminar hub) are directly accessible from the outdoor areas. Every outdoor event is planned with a precise fallback scenario — not a vague intention, but an alternative programme with confirmed spaces and suppliers briefed in advance.

Catering logistics. Caterers work differently outdoors: stand installation, adapted equipment, hot and cold management depending on the season. Our partner caterers, selected for their experience with outdoor events, factor in these constraints from the outset.

Sound and lighting. Outdoors, sound management works differently from indoors. The same applies to evening lighting. Our technical team handles the setup adapted to each configuration — you don't need to worry about any of this.

Signage and guest flow. Across a 2-hectare site with multiple spaces, participants need to know where to go. Well-prepared signage avoids bottlenecks and dead time in the wrong place.
